Dr. David Larson

Dr. Larson earned his bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science and Health from the University of Utah and his medical degree from the University of Utah School of Medicine. He completed his pediatric residency at Ohio State University and Columbus Children’s Hospital, now Nationwide Children’s Hospital, and is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.

Twenty-eight years in one valley means Dr. Larson has followed some families through three generations — caring for the newborns of patients he first met as newborns himself. That long view shapes how he practices.

Families who see Dr. Larson can expect a calm, unhurried conversation and a doctor who explains his reasoning. His background in behavioral science informs his work with older kids in particular — he has a long-standing interest in adolescent and young adult medicine and in ADHD evaluation and management, where getting the diagnosis right depends on listening carefully to parents, teachers, and the patient themselves.

Dr. Larson has lived in the Heber Valley for 28 years. When he is not at the clinic, he is usually outside — skiing, biking, or hiking the trails just past his front door. He also builds things: homes, and, more recently, ski vans, which have become a favorite winter project.

Practicing in the same valley he lives in means he runs into his patients at the trailhead and the grocery store. After nearly three decades, that familiarity is the part of the job he values most.
